Keswick to Barrow Walk 2006 The 40th annual 40 mile Keswick to Barrow Walk took place on Saturday 6th May 2006. The first ever walk took place in 1967, and since 1969 walkers from all over the UK and elsewhere have taken part and raised money for Cumbrian charities. The walk route passes through Marton, which is at the 34 mile mark. The walkers take a short break at the checkpoint outside the New Inn, and then carry on via Dalton to the finish at Barrow. Hundreds of volunteers help to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Full details of the walk and final results can be found on the official Keswick to Barrow Walk website.
