Buccleuch Hall

The Buccleuch Hall is situated in the centre of Lindal village by The Green. The hall was built for the village by the Duke of Buccleuch, and was originally tenanted by the church for use by the Sunday School, etc. In 1947, the Duke vested the hall management in trustees representing all of the village organisations, to be known as the Buccleuch Hall Management Committee. Each year the Committee holds a bonfire evening on November 5th at Lindal Moor Cricket Club, a Senior Citizens' party in December, and a Carol Singing evening just before Christmas around the Christmas tree on The Green, followed by refreshments in the hall. The hall is well used by various bodies. However, it is available most Friday nights. Anybody interested in making a booking should contact Lesley Edmondson on 01229 465274 between 6pm and 7pm.
